A Sunday morning hit-and-run left one person dead and two others injured in San Francisco’s Mission District.

According to the San Francisco Police Department, shortly after 2 a.m., officers responded to a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian at 16th and Capp Streets.

The suspect fled the scene before the officers arrived.

An adult female was transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Shortly after, another vehicle collision was reported at 16th and Potrero Streets. According to SFPD, it was the same vehicle in the first collision.

When officers arrived, both the victim and the suspect were found injured inside their cars.

They were transported to the local hospital where the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The suspect is in custody with non-life-threatening injuries.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the San Francisco Police Department at (415)-575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411 and start the message with “SFPD”.
