1 injured in shooting near Oakland’s Lake Merritt

A shooting near Lake Merritt in Oakland left one person injured.

According to Oakland police, the shooting happened at around 1:45 p.m. on Monday on the 600 block of Bellevue Avenue. Officers responded to the scene as dispatchers received several reports of shooting to 9-1-1. 

Police found a male victim but gave no additional details. A red sedan in the area is seen surrounded by officers. 

People were urged to avoid the area. Anyone with information about the shooting was asked to contact the Oakland Police Department Felony Assault Unit at (510) 238-3426.
