4 killed in 3 homicide cases in Oakland

Four people were killed after two separate shootings Wednesday morning and another one that happened before noon. 

First shooting

Around 1:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of 89th Avenue near D Street after receiving reports of a shooting. At the scene, the police found two people with gunshot wounds. 

Medical aid was performed but both victims succumbed to their injuries and died at the spot. 

OPD’s Homicide Section is investigating the incident and the victims’ identities are yet to be released. 

Second shooting

Before 5 a.m., officers responded to the 200 block of 18th Avenue and found a person suffering from a gunshot wound. 

According to police, the victim succumbed to their injuries at the scene. 

Shortly after this second incident, a second victim arrived at a hospital with gunshot wounds. 

OPD is unable to provide any additional details at this time.

Third shooting

Just before 12 p.m., OPD received reports of a shooting in the 2100 block of 106th Avenue. At the scene, officers found a victim with a gunshot wound. 

Medical aid was performed. However, the victim succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased on the scene. 

The victim’s identity is currently being withheld pending next of kin.
