7-year-old Jaslyn and her father Jontae Adams were in Mcdonald’s parking lot in the Homan Square neighborhood when their car was approached and shot Sunday afternoon.

Chicago police reports said that the 7-year-old girl was killed and her father fatally injured.

An unnamed McDonald’s employee told the Chicago Sun-Times that two people got out of a gray car in the drive-thru and started shooting at Adams’ car.

The girl was repeatedly shot and was taken to a hospital where she was unfortunately pronounced dead. Her father was shot in the torso and taken to the same hospital, where his condition was reported to be fatal and serious.

No arrests have been made yet and the police couldn’t offer any possible motive.
