San Rafael police reported a stabbing incident at a house party last weekend that left an individual with stab wounds in the neck and arms.

The authorities responded to a report last August 14 at around 9:50 p.m. regarding a stabbing incident at the 300 block of Prospect Avenue.

The victim was carried through a vehicle that went away from the scene but was later stopped by the responding police at Lincoln Avenue and Laurel Place.

The stabbed individual retained consciousness and wrapped his wounded neck with a t-shirt to minimize the bleeding. The officers were able to contact the victim, whom they provided with first aid and discovered stabbing injuries: one in his neck, which was about 5 inches; and two others on the back of the victim’s left arm.

The San Rafael Fire Department also came to respond and helped transport the victim to a local hospital.

In a talk with the SRPD officers before going to the hospital, the victim revealed that he was at a party held in the 300 block of Prospect Avenue. According to him, he was at the party for a short while when the fracas started.

He has no idea as to why the fight started but claimed that someone had stabbed him in the neck during the altercation.

Apart from this information, the victim did not reveal any more details to the police.

The investigation was handled by the detectives of the SRPD. They gathered several interviews and physical evidence, including video evidence.

According to their probe, a search warrant was acquired for a home in the 100 block of Prospect Avenue. It helped in locating the physical proof as well as the video linking to the suspect on the stabbing incident.

Based on all the evidence, detectives of the SRPD had probable cause to have the suspect, the 17-year-old San Rafael resident, arrested for the crime.

He was located in the Mission and Tamalpais area in San Rafael at around 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 19, KRON4 reported.

He was arrested and was brought for an interview at the SRPD.
