An Asian San Francisco USPS  man was stabbed multiple times in a violent robbery attack in the Bayview neighborhood of the city.

Authorities identified the victim as 53-year-old Chi Ling Lee who works as a USPS employee. Images of the incident showed a brutal scene immediately after the crime where the victim was covered in blood while walking to a San Francisco police.

Brutal Stabbing

The attack occurred on Saturday night when an unknown man approached Lee and demanded his money. His wife, Dong-Min Sun, said the criminal then stabbed him multiple times in his upper body and face. Lee’s wife created a GoFundMe page to raise money for her husband’s recovery. After taking Lee’s backpack, the suspect fled in a getaway vehicle parked nearby.

Authorities said Lee is currently in the hospital recovering from his injuries. They said he did not suffer any severe injuries from the stabbing. The victim’s wife said her husband could have died if the suspect’s knife was larger, the San Francisco Gate reported.

Sun created the GoFundMe page to pay for Lee’s health insurance deductible, physical therapy, and lost wages as a result of the brutal attack. The page has since raised more than $15,000 in donations since being opened on Tuesday evening.
