California has released new guidelines for mask-wearing aligning with recommendations given by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention last month.
New Mask Guidance
The new rules, which will take effect Tuesday, now allow vaccinated residents to go out maskless. However, mask-wearing is still required in certain settings, such as public transportation, indoors at schools, and child-care, health-care and long-term care facilities.
Vaccinated individuals are also required to wear face coverings when visiting correctional facilities and homeless shelters.
People who have not been vaccinated against COVID-19 are required to wear masks at indoor public settings, such as retail stores, government offices and movie theaters.
