A vehicle was found buried under an Atherton home Thursday morning. The Atherton Police Department received a call at 8:50 a.m. after landscapers discovered the buried car while working on a project at a private home.

Cadaver dogs bought on the scene in the 300 block of Stockbridge Avenue indicated the possibility of human remains buried at the residence.

According to police, the car was believed to be buried in the 1990s. It was under 4-5 feet into the ground where police found unused concrete bags throughout the vehicle.

Crime scene technicians are working on getting the vehicle out of the ground, and an investigation is launched to see if a crime has been committed.
