Girl who lost control of her bike crashes, dies in South Bay

Police on Saturday reported that a young girl lost control of her bicycle and crashed into a concrete wall in San Jose, which led to her death.

The San Jose Police Department said she was driving at about 3 p.m. down on Valroy Drive in the La Colina neighborhood when the accident happened.

The girl bumped into an elevated curb on Curie Drive and was thrown into a concrete retaining wall.

She suffered a serious head injury as the police said she was not wearing a helmet.

The girl was rushed to a local hospital with the help of the authorities but she did not survive the crash.

Police said the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office is conducting an investigation to find her family and inform them of the fatal accident.

Saturday’s crash was counted as the 36th fatality in the city this year, according to the police, San Francisco Chronicle reported.

San Jose Police Department’s Traffic Investigations Unit’s Detective Bowen’s line at 408-277-4654 is open to welcome information connected to the crash.
