Oakland police investigate city’s 100th homicide of 2022

Police are investigating Oakland City’s 100th homicide since the start of 2022. 

According to Oakland police, the shooting happened before 3 p.m. on Monday in the 1300 block of Kirkham Street. Patrol officers, the Oakland Fire Department, and the Falk Ambulance were dispatched to the area to provide medical aid to the victim. 

The victim died at the scene. 

According to statistics from Oakland Police Officers’ Association, the last time Oakland had 100 homicides in a year was in 2008.
