1 min read

The San Francisco Fire Department is currently mourning the passing of a crew member who responded to a garage fire at the city’s international airport.

Christopher G. Yock, on Tuesday last week, accompanied other firefighters to respond to a garage fire that broke out at the San Francisco International Airport around 6;30 a.m. While he returned home safely, the first department said he passed away moments after.

Cause of Death

Yock suffered a cardiac arrest at his San Rafael home shortly after returning from the incident, according to fire department spokesperson Lt. Jonathan Baxter. It was not immediately clear whether he died of injuries sustained in the fire. The department said they would conduct an autopsy.

A vigil will be held for Yock on Thursday, 4 p.m. at St. Ignatius Church.
