Two dead in separate weekend shootings in Oakland

Two people died in separate shootings this weekend in Oakland. 

According to Oakland Police Department, the first shooting occurred around 1 a.m., Saturday, at the 300 block of MacArthur Boulevard. On the scene, officers found a man with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite receiving emergency medical aid, the victim succumbed to his injuries. 

Police are saying this shooting is a homicide. 

The second shooting incident happened on Sunday morning, around 9 a.m. at the 600 block of Hegenberger Road. Officers arrived on the scene and located one victim with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to the hospital before being pronounced dead. 

Officials headed to the scene to open a homicide investigation. 

The identity of both victims was not shared.
