The victim in the deadly Marin County traffic crash on Saturday has been identified. The motor vehicle collision occurred on Point Reyes Petaluma Road in Hicks Valley on Saturday, December 10, around 1:15 p.m.

According to the Marin County Sheriff’s Office, first responders were dispatched to the scene and found two collided vehicles. Both cars have major damage.

The sole occupant in the Subaru Impreza, one of the vehicles involved, was found unconscious, unresponsive, and in cardiac arrest.

He was identified as Miles Walter Kintz, 22, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The preliminary investigation reveals Kintz was driving south when he lost control of the vehicle, crossed the road divider, and hit a Honda Accord sedan.

According to police, a forensic postmortem and examination with toxicology testing will be completed later this week.

The California Highway Patrol Marin Office and the Marin County Sheriff’s Officer Coroner Division are investigating the cause and manner of Kintz’s death.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
